In the southern part of the Ile-de-France there is a cluster which comprises universities, Grandes Écoles and research centres, known as Paris-Saclay University.
The new institution is based on an ambitious scientific programme and underlying structure, together with property investments and outstanding infrastructure funded by two government programmes set up to create several university clusters of international calibre in France (Opération campus and Investissements d'avenir).
Paris-Sud University, which is already present on the Saclay plateau, is a leading player in the project. This provides an opportunity for the university to make the most of its strengths in research and education and reinforce the synergy with its partners. True to its identity and values, Paris-Sud University, together with its partners, intends to be a major force in building the campus of the future.
